The Right Jewelry

Jewelry can accent what you are wearing. It can also distract. If you tend to wear that same tired black dress to too many functions again and again, you may want to opt for some new ways in wearing your accessories to "doll it up."
The right piece, can set your look apart from others, and express your own individual style.
Here are some new ways to maybe wear jewelry you may already own.

There's been a lot said of statement pieces. Statement pieces are just that, a pieces that makes a STATEMENT. It doesn't whisper, but rather it speaks in an "OUTSIDE" voice.
It is worn to get attention.
This could be a necklaces, an eye-catching pair of earrings, a ring worn on your index finger.
Something unexpected. Something new can be things you already own, worn in a new way, but it can also require a new purchase or two.

Here's a few options to inspire:
  • Maybe a large ring that doesn't match a thing you are wearing.
  • Maybe a single wrist full of bangle bracelets (5~8 of them), in either gold or silver or maybe a combination of both.
  • Maybe you wearing more than one pendant on a chain at a time, as a collection, something that tells a story. If you think you don't have a story, then it's okay to make one up...
  • Maybe you try wearing chains longer than usual, say 30~40" long, and hang a bauble off the end. The movement of a longer chain with a pendant dangling is a conversion piece!
  • Maybe you take several toggle style bracelets and attach them together to create a new necklace
  • Maybe you add a pendant to pearls or beads which you usually wear alone by the aid of a pendant enhancer.
  • Maybe you mix your metals, white, rose and yellow gold all worn together.
  • Maybe you wear more than one watch at a time, each set to different times...
  • The options are endless and the rules no longer apply

Pearl Necklace Shorteners Enhancers

Pearl Necklace Shorteners Enhancers

One needs to be clever about their accessories with the ever rising cost of metals and jewels. Having gadgets that work in multi-function purposes, with jewelry you may already own, is one way to stretch your $$$.

Opera length pearls, or longer, can be a great thing, but the long length can be limiting.

One way to maximize your jewelry wardrobe is by using converters/shorteners that can make your pieces shorter.
Pearl shorteners have been around since the late 1800's and are still widely in use today.
Many times you cannot even tell a pearl shortener is being use when covered by collars or hair. Other times, it can be used as a focal point, in the front, with perhaps a pendant attached, for statement making jewelry.

We carry a wide variety in: 14KT white & yellow gold, sterling silver, and a few platinum pieces and even stainless steel.
Prices start in the $20.00 range, so it can be a more affordable option to take advantage of the jewelry you already own!

These brilliant gadgets are easy to use, and their function is not limited to simply pearls, additionally, other beaded necklaces and even gold/silver chains that have an open loop to catch on, can be shortened with ease.

Furthermore, pearl shortener can also be used in certain circumstances as a pendant enhancer converter. By simply looping the bail of a pendant through one end of the enhancer and a necklace chain you can create a new look to an old piece.

White or Yellow Gold?

I am often asked which is more popular WHITE or YELLOW GOLD? The answer lies within each person's styles, tastes and whims. Your affinity may be fluid, ever-changing, ever evolving and ever-collecting. Arguably, WHITE GOLD & PLATINUM have been the "Hot" trend since the early 1990's for wedding jewelry and more. Elegant & Classic, many of today's women are still choosing this cool colored metal.

However, YELLOW GOLD has been back in "Vogue" in high fashion pieces for a number of years. Check the runways and you will see, in force, the YELLOW GOLD insurgency. Not just one or two simple items, but in multiple pieces and sizes. "More is More"...The Bohemian look of multi pairing of necklaces, rings and bracelets is definitely in!

Beyond the obvious WHITE & YELLOW GOLD, there are other colors which are being recognized more & more frequently.

ROSE GOLD has been a trend for many years. Although mostly seen in tri-color pieces, don't think ROSE GOLD is best left in its trio form. The Pink Color Gold is being welcomed on the scene paired with White Gold, or simply standing on its own. It's a natural win/win when matched with Pink Sapphires, Pink Topaz or Pink Diamonds.

What I have loved since the late 80's, and it isn't seen much outside of high-end designer pieces, is GREEN GOLD. GREEN GOLD is dullish, subdued, pale hued and purely sublimed. I can't quite put my finger on why it holds my appeal, maybe because it is so different. Maybe because Green Gold doesn't shout, but somehow still lets you know it is special.

Among the new crop of colors which are springing on the market is CHOCOLATE GOLD. Yes, and it is utterly yummy! Simply by name alone this is a pleaser! Brown being the new black makes this a great option to add to your jewelry wardrobe. Warm and stunning, it looks great with Smokey Topaz, Quartz, Chocolate Diamonds, Citrines, etc.

And even more colors are right on the color horizon, including blue, purple and black. So why limit yourself to just one color of gold? Why not join the trend I have been endorsing for a number of years; multiple number of engagement/wedding rings. Try one each in the gold color of your choice. So when you are dressing and notice your shoes have silver detailing as does the jacket, dress or blouse, you go with the WHITE GOLD/PLATINUM. When you're in the mood for YELLOW, you bring out your YELLOW GOLD set.I still haven't thought of a creative marketing technique to get the dude, who just shelled out two months salary, to buy into another two month investment. None the less, I always tell my male customers, having been carefully led to the point of buying that all important ring, that this is only the beginning of their jewelry buying, not the end.
